We know that music education programs are deeply valued in K-12 schools throughout the world. Music education is supported in public education by all constituents-- students, parents, educators, administrators, and education boards. Everyone understands their responsibility to the creative pursuits of young minds.
Over the past ten years, through research and ongoing conversations, the focus of The Music Stand Foundation is changing. While still advocating strengthening the amount of time every student receives with music teachers, and ensuring consistent delivery and building of programs over time, The Music Stand Foundation now focuses toward research of creativity in K-12 public music education and develops music education materials related to composing, technology, and virtual environments.
As well, the vision of The Music Stand Foundation is to further the study of creativity in public school classrooms and arts education programs through development of opportunities for both students and music teachers. Through funding.
There are many evolving ideas coming from the California Music Education Association, National Association for Music Education, and others who consider advocacy and how to achieve more consistent delivery of music education programs. Our message is to STAY INVOLVED with your creative voice!!!
You are invited to post your creative music and composing experiences (teaching and learning) on the IdeasByTeachers page. Also, watch for materials to be posted on the Resources page or contribute your students' musical works!
Please visit The Music Stand Foundation often! Your creative voice is most important and very exciting!
